SCALE YOUR MOMPRENEUR BUSINESS WITH A DAILY ROUTINE

As a mompreneur, do you have a daily routine to help you stay focused and on track with your life and business goals? I am not talking about striving for balance. If you have followed me on social media then you know that I feel chasing balance for mompreneurs is a huge waste of time but that doesn't mean we approach our day without a game plan. To scale your business where you want it to be, you have to start with the basics of having a well defined daily schedule.

Having a plan of how you want your day to go sets you up for success. It creates a strategy for how you will approach the day otherwise you are flying by the seat of your pants as a default. Of course, life will happen and as moms we will have to be flexible and adjust to those demands but bottom line, a schedule equals productivity. It saves time in knowing from the time you wake up how you will hit the ground running physically and mentally instead of fumbling through your day spending hours trying to figure out what to do and where to even begin. It's not about having more time (which is an impossible expectation), it's about effectively using the time you do have to be as efficient as possible.

Your daily routine should allow your life and business to flow together. While it's important to be as fully present as possible in the moments of your life and with those who matter most, it's also not about setting aside strict amounts of time. To help you create a daily schedule, I thought it would be fun to give you some insight into my daily life as a full-time business strategist to mompreneurs.

MY DAILY SCHEDULE

5:30 - 6 AM Wake up Read verse of the day on my Bible app or a devotional like "Starting Your Morning Right" by Joyce Meyer app Prayer time Listen to what I am hearing from God and His Word

7:30 AM Leave for school

8 AM Check email, text messages, etc., respond to time sensitive requests

8:30 - 9:45 AM Gym workout - a combination of HIIT and Pilates

10 - 10:15 AM Get a snack Quick household chores so I don't feel so overloaded at the end of the day (you will be amazed how much you can get done in 15 minutes around the house)

10:15 AM - 12 PM Calls with Clients Working on coaching programs and lessons for my Live Into Your Calling course, trainings etc and FB Live session.

12 - 12:30 PM Lunch and reflection, outside. Take time to close my eyes and think about the Word for the day, what I am hearing and how it's transpiring through the day I am experiencing. I ask these questions: What are the opportunities for me to shift my perspective? Show up differently? Do something differently?

12:30 - 2:30 PM Answer emails Calls with potential clients, strategic partners

2:30 - 3:30 PM Writing & Social Media check in - book, social media (daily however will be limiting to 3 days per week starting in May)

3:30 - 4:30 PM Wrap up the day, send off final emails and proposals for clients

4:30 PM Leave to get kids from school

5 PM Get kids settled and visit Start homework

5:30 PM Get dinner ready Help with finishing up homework

6 - 6:45 PM Eat dinner (if we have an after school activity this gets pushed out by 1 hour)

7 PM Bath time

7:30 - 8:30 PM Read books, watch kid friendly shows as we relax for bed time

8:30 PM Kids in bed

8:45 PM Read daily bible verse again Read "Ending Your Day Right" by Joyce Meyer Reflect, pray and listen Read a book (if I am up for it- some nights I give myself permission to get in bed early and rest)

Does every day go smoothly for me, no. Some days I don't make it to the gym. Some days I am so busy I forget to eat lunch. Sometimes I have to move my schedule around to accommodate the unexpected. Other days my kids just need their mom and I have to put emails and social media time on the back burner but you know what, it's okay not to sacrifice peace for progress. I will wake up the next day ready to start again because I have a plan. Without one, an off day would derail me for several days and kill my momentum.

TAKE ACTION

Now it's your turn. Do you start your day knowing what pieces need to fall into place to help you move your business forward? Time for self-care? Time to be present for your family? Time to fill yourself up spiritually?

Spend some time over the next 48 hours to write down how you need to approach each day in order to end the day feeling good about what you accomplished. Make this a priority. Once you have those thoughts written down, use them as an outline to create a schedule for yourself.

Yes you will have off days when people in your house get ill, a hiccup happens in your business/job or you decide you need a mental health day but having a schedule allows you to easily hit the reset button and easily get back on track.

I would love to hear from you and how you use a schedule to meet your life and business goals. Do you have a productivity hack to share? Be sure to leave me a comment!
